"Ready and Willing to Build a New Rockdale"
Avi Gayden Working for You
Write-In Candidate for
Rockdale Commissioner Chair
We have a lot of work ahead of us, but I am convinced that those of us who are invested in Rockdale and who love Rockdale can work together for the future success of our wonderful county and win support from our state and federal friends.
Our past experiences in Rockdale have proven that we need new leadership and more results. I am ready to listen, to problem solve and work for the people by collaborating with the people. Rockdale, let’s build a Rockdale that we can be proud of.
You have options for Rockdale Commissioner Chair in 2024. Even if you are leaning towards voting for my opponent, Janice VanNess, still feel free to chat with me about Rockdale. Rockdale needs to come together for the right reasons. I welcome all of Rockdale to the table of THE PEOPLE.
Write-In Candidate Avi Gayden for
Rockdale Commissioner Chair
"Let's find out what we agree on that will help us thrive and
resist those who want us divided. Let's Protect Our Investment!"
Avi Gayden has lived in Rockdale for over 20 years. She has raised two daughters who were both gifted students at Rockdale High School. She is a native of Jackson, Mississippi and a graduate of Jackson State University. Ms. Gayden retired as a finance manager but continues to stay busy helping in her HOA community, and promoting education as a substitute teacher. She is passionate about seeing Rockdale thrive and envisions smart growth, smart spending and smart leadership throughout the county to help preserve Rockdale and bolster progress. She sees more opportunities for resident engagement, more discussions and solutions around economic development, more investment opportunities for community-centered investors and more amenities.
She stresses that building upon Rockdale can be done with or without regard for the people and the landscape of the county, but she insists that regarding the people and the landscape is the only way to build and retain legacy residents and welcome future residents. Avi says, “I am convinced that we are responsible for how we grow the county and for what we pass on to others.”
THE ISSUES

“After living here for over 20 years, I proudly call Rockdale “home”. Rockdale appealed to me because of its small town feel in addition to its suburban qualities. Overall, it has been a safe community and a wonderful place to live. However, the past 16 years of leadership has revealed the need for new leaders and new ideas in order to push Rockdale forward in ways that sustain the qualities that many residents want to preserve and build upon.”
VOLUNTEER
Running as a write-in candidate is tough to win but not impossible. This will require the support of committed volunteers and voters who are willing to enlist new county leaders. We need your help in whatever way you are able to help- every little bit counts. We could use help sharing our Facebook page, scheduling Meet and Greets, sharing with potential voters, passing out flyers or working the polls during early voting or on election day.
